History
The origin of Farseers extends to 210-209 BCE, with the first appearing during the entombment of builders and servants destined to serve Chinese Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife. The famous Terracotta Army, buried in modern Lintong County, were expertly crafted and meant to stand against the test of time as eternal watchmen, guarding over China's first Emperor as he moved on to his eternal slumber.
Lü Yuan, a craftsman from Wey state, was born in Yewang during the Qin Dynasty and was ordered to assist in the creation of the Terracotta Army sometime during 234BCE. Physicians and officials from all over the Qin empire had been summoned to devise ways of extending the life of the Emperor. A vial of potion meant to grant eternal life was created through the trial and error of countless men. However, before Emperor Qin Shi Huang could drink the mixture he had died, addled and paranoid from the mercury and other harmful substances he had consumed to prolong his life. The vial was set along offerings that Lü was ordered to bring into the mausoleum and leave for his Emperor to take with him into the afterlife.
Lü, an enterprising sort of man, instead pocketed the vial and left a similar glass bottle of blue tinted water in its place. Lü drank the potion and became grievously ill, suffering from fever and delirium for three days before his family received the official order commanding him to enter the Emperor's mausoleum to finalize the presentation of the Terracotta Army.
During the last night of his delirium, Lü had vivid dreams of being sealed within the dark tomb of the Emperor. He was haunted by the cries of the men that had worked alongside him for the past two and a half decades, all struggling and suffering as they built the Emperor's final resting place. On the day of the Emperor's entombment, Lü fled the city with his much younger wife and children, later learning that his dreams of entombment were not feverish nightmares but the reality for countless craftsmen sealed within the Emperor's final resting place.
The concoction that Lü Yuan drank was priceless, and has never been recreated despite multiple attempts throughout history - most notably by Nazi Germany during World War II. A permanent change to his DNA occurred when the potion was consumed, and through the children he had with his wife the exceedingly rare power of the Farseer faction was born. The Farseer powers are the only Faction powers known to have been created by man and, as such, are both highly feared and highly coveted by organizations across the globe.
