How do I roll? Along the top of the toolbar, to the far right you will see a small dice icon. Click it once per die you wish to roll. If your skill or talent gives you one die, then you click it once. If you have two, click it twice and so on.
How does it work? Faction powers are based off of a D-6 system. There will be a minimum number to pass and successfully use your power, with harder powers being increasingly more difficult to successfully pass. Several powers have the ability to become more intense in strength or duration depending on the levels of success over the minimum number required.
For example: Player Character is using an Ardent power to buff speed to avoid an attack. This power has a base difficulty of 5, with 2 D-6 to roll toward the action. You roll two dice and get a 3 and a 6 for a total of 9. The default speed boost lasts 10 seconds, but because you scored a total of 9 you have 4 points above the minimum. Every two points above the minimum will change the duration of the effect, so instead of lasting 10 seconds the new duration is 30 seconds.
How do I make myself stronger? Additional dice can be purchased using Soul Trinkets gained from successful Otherworldly missions and applied to one of your faction powers. These aren't universally applicable, so if you add an extra dice to Faction Power 1, you won't get extra dice in Faction Power 2 and 3. Plan accordingly!
